A colorful day-long award-giving ceremony took place on 16th May’25 at Baptist Mission Boys’ High School’s premises where 2,411 students from 36 schools were awarded in different categories.
The award-giving ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Mr. Khandakar Md. Asaduzzaman, Retired Secretary and Former Trustee of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro,Mr. Md. Sohrab Hossain, Joint Secretary and Additional Divisional Commissioner (General), Barishal, Mr. Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Regional Deputy Director, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Mr. Md. Harunur Rashid, District Education Officer, Barishal, Mr. Gabriel Gain, Head Teacher, Baptist Mission Boys’ High School,Mr. Sanuar Hossain, Circle Head, Barishal Division, Grameenphone Limited and Mr. Shamim Al Mamun, Director, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro.
In the program our Barisal Circle Head, Sanuar Hossain said, “The youth are our future. To nurture their human and intellectual potential, Grameenphone has supported this noble initiative for the past two decades. Congratulations to today’s winners of the reading program. There is no alternative to reading books for mental and intellectual growth. As part of building enlightened individuals, this initiative by Bishwo Shahitto Kendro is truly commendable, and we are proud to be a part of it.”
On 9 May, 2025 Prize Giving Ceremony was inaugurated in Dhaka and more programs are planned in Khulna, Rajshahi and Chattogram which are scheduled in July and August 2025. According to 2025 plan total of 20,307 students from 331 schools will be awarded for their book reading habits.
