Grameenphone, in partnership with Plan International Bangladesh, has officially launched the second phase of its Digital Inclusion for Marginalized Communities initiative, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in Bangladesh's digital transformation journey.
Building on the success of Phase I, which reached 3.3 million people across 32 districts, including 68% women, the new phase aims to empower an additional 4 million people from eight underserved and marginalized communities with digital literacy, online safety awareness, and essential digital skills.
The launch event featured inspiring stories from beneficiaries who have transformed challenges into opportunities through digital empowerment. Their journeys highlighted how access to digital knowledge and skills can unlock new pathways for education, entrepreneurship, income generation, and greater social inclusion.
Implemented in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh and supported by global partners including Telenor and GSMA, the initiative continues to create opportunities for women, youth, and marginalized communities to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
Through this next phase, Grameenphone reaffirms its commitment to bridging the digital divide and enabling inclusive, sustainable development across Bangladesh31st Julyâ26
