27th April’2025
Empowering Dreams, Achieving $10,000 and Beyond
Grameenphone Academy celebrated $10,000 collective earning by the students o freelancing factory after completing 5 months of rigorous journey!
Out of 92 students in the cohort, 49% began earning within five months of completing the program, including 10 female students. Among the earners, three students are making more than $1,000, with the highest income reaching $3,132.
Back in November, we launched the Freelancing Factory program under Grameenphone Academy with a bold vision—to equip a group of students with the skills and guidance needed to become employable freelancers by Q1. Our collective target was ambitious: $10,000 in earnings.
At the start, we were uncertain—could we really achieve it? But through relentless effort, dedication, and with the incredible support of our passionate young mentors, our students made it happen—a result of grit, late nights, and unwavering commitment.
This achievement calls for celebration.
To mark the success of the cohort, Grameenphone Academy organized a celebratory event with the students of the Freelancing Factory at GP House. The event commenced with a welcome address by Farhana Islam, Head of ESG, who set a tone of ESG ambition of Grameenphone.
The Academy had the honor of hosting Mr. Munir Hasan, Chief Coordinator of Digital Transformation, Youth Programme, Event and Activation at Prothom Alo, as the distinguished guest. Mr. Hasan delivered an inspiring address, sharing real-world experiences and motivational insights that urged the students to aspire higher and pursue their ambitions with determination.
A key highlight of the program was the CEO panel discussion, featuring six students from some of the most remote regions of Bangladesh, including Kurigram, Chandpur, Sylhet, and Rajshahi. Their powerful stories of perseverance, growth, and success exemplified the transformative impact of the program. The event concluded with an uplifting speech by Sayeda Tahya Hossain, the Chief Human Resources Officer, who lauded the students’ achievements and officially announced the launch of two additional cohorts set to begin in May.
